I’m a Born-and-Bred Okie who left Oklahoma after graduating from college, lived in various places in the Midwest, on the East Coast and in Northern California before moving back to Oklahoma in February 2011. I graduated from OSU with a degree in Music Education, taught school for a few years, and then spent 35 years in various arenas of the hospitality industry. I worked as a waitress, bartender, hostess and office manager, then my ex-husband and I purchased a restaurant on the Jersey Shore which we also operated and managed “hands on” while living above “the store.” In the late 90’s, I migrated to California Wine Country – first Sonoma County, then Napa Valley. I worked for various wineries, then for an olive oil producer before “coming home” to Oklahoma. Now I volunteer at an equestrian therapy center, at a community project preparing and serving dinner to those in need once a week and I sing in a church choir. I also enjoy working out, gardening, cooking, antiquing, decorating, travelling and spending time with my dog Molly. My first experience with HFH was in Papua New Guinea, followed by builds in Argentina and China. HFH Bolivia is my fourth project with Global Village, but it won’t be my last!
